Sarahs key

In Sarahs key beginning of the novel, the chapters alternate between the two separate lives of Sarah and Julia. Ten years old, she lives in Paris in Julywith her parents and brother.

Later, Julia would learn that Sarah could no longer bear the burden of her past and committed suicide.

Sarah's Key Summary

Sarah runs up to her apartment, knocking on the door furiously. The entire section is Sarahs key, words. She resides in a home. The couple explains the situation, and the father of the new family quickly opens the cupboard and pulls out the decayed body of Michel.

Days later, the Jews are loaded onto trains that will take them to a facility in the country. For human beings, the Holocaust is impossible to understand, it is just unexplainable. Nevertheless, I was impressed with the book, its main message makes the readers think, and this is a sign of good literature.

In the present, the French husband of journalist Julia Kristin Scott Thomas inherits the apartment of his grandparents his elderly father was the boy who opened the door to Sarah in August Her husband, though in the midst of an affair, selfishly loves their life with their year-old daughter, Zoe, as it is and does not want to have another child at this point in life.

The couple take the two girls in to live in their house. Rachel is captured but Sarah is adopted by an elderly couple who raise Sarah as a grandchild. Starzynski is willing to fight, but he is sent almost immediately from the French camp to Auschwitz where he is sent to the gas chambers.

Later, we find out, they were all sent to Auschwitz. Sarah tries to leave by herself to find her brother in their apartment in Paris, but the couple goes with her to then find her brother dead.

William, having uprooted his own life too in the wake of everything he has learned about his mother, also moves to New York City and eventually tracks down Julia again. The Nazis arrive and search for more children, but without finding Sarah they take Rachel away and she presumably dies.
